Bauer strengthens Take a Break brand with launch of Take a Break Pets

Bauer Media has added a new monthly magazine to its real-life portfolio from the team behind popular women’s weekly, Take a Break.

Following its success as a standalone title during 2020, Take a Break Pets launches this week as a monthly* title.

Aimed at animal lovers, Take a Break Pets contains real-life stories, advice from vets and trainers, as well as quizzes, a pet-friendly recipes and four-legged fashion.

The launch comes at a time when pets have been cited as a vital source of emotional support for their owners during the Covid-19 pandemic. A survey by The Kennel Club discovered that 91 per cent of pup parents said their dog had a positive impact on their mental health during the crisis.

Commenting on the launch, Joanne Bourne, Publisher of Bauer Media UK’s Real-life, TV Listings and Puzzles portfolio, said: “Take a Break Pets has been so popular with readers as part of the Take a Break Specials programme in 2020, that we have turned it into a regular frequency title in its own right this year!  People of all ages love their animals and are keen to share their stories, pictures and all the tips and tricks they have picked up through having pets as a cherished part of their family.
