British Vogue announces The Vogue Vintage Sale presented by eBay
Vogue editors will curate a selection of vintage and pre-loved items for sale online and at exclusive events in London and New York
On Saturday 29th March, The Vogue Vintage Sale will launch, combining an online sale via the British Vogue website and eBay with an exclusive, in-person event in London, with a very limited number of tickets available via a competition on British Vogue’s website.
The online and IRL sale will feature items sourced by British Vogue editors including Chioma Nnadi, Laura Ingham, Naomi Smart, Eniola Dare and Emily Chan, pulling in looks from eBay, industry friends of Vogue, photoshoots, British Vogue’s very own fashion cupboard and the wardrobes of some famous faces. The Vogue Vintage Sale presented by eBay offers fashion lovers the chance to shop vintage like a pro, whilst raising money for charity. All net proceeds will go to Smart Works, who are helping unemployed women get the coaching, clothing and confidence they need to secure employment.
In New York, Vogue US will be launching the Vogue Vintage Market on the same day, with net proceeds benefitting the Entertainment Community Fund, supporting those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires.
British Vogue and eBay are working together to transform the UK’s relationship with clothing for the better by choosing pre-loved first. Chioma Nnadi said: “Some of my all-time favourite outfits are vintage, and I’ve spent hours of my life scouring eBay for those absolute gems from collections of the past. Now the Vogue editors in London and New York are putting those skills to good use, and handpicking the absolute best of pre-loved in this curated sale. Whether you join us online or are one of the lucky ticket holders in London, we’re so excited to bring this sale to you and raise money for a good cause that is incredibly close to our hearts.”
Alexis Hoopes, VP of Global Fashion at eBay, the global marketplace and a leading destination for branded pre-loved fashion, said: “eBay has an incredible selection of pre-loved designer inventory, and there is nobody better to curate our assortment than Vogue’s cadre of editors and designers.”
