Social agency, Pepper, has created a practical checklist to help publishers plan, execute and measure creator partnerships with clarity, consistency, and commercial impact.

At the 2026 PPA Festival, Joe Friend (Director and Co-Founder, Pepper) discussed the framework in the session ‘Why raising creator standards is good for business – and society’. If you were a delegate, you can catch up on demand here.

Built to bring structure to how influencer marketing works, the standards covers five key areas:

  1. Objective setting: define a clear role for influence
  2. Audience: reach people with real intent
  3. Editorial integrity: build trust not just visibility
  4. Test, learn, and optimise: improve performance over time
  5. Measurement: prove impact beyond engagement

The framework will continue to evolve in partnership with the PPA, covering more areas.

The checklist is structured across the full campaign lifecycle: defining strategy audience and outcomes before; managing quality and optimises performance during; and measuring impact and scale afterwards.
