World Craft Week returns for 2018 and launches charity campaign Craft4Bliss

The week long event brings together crafters, makers and the creative industry to celebrate their love of craft and raise money for Bliss during World Craft Week.

Immediate Media Co.’s Craft portfolio is back with World Craft Week for the second year and has teamed up with Bliss, the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick to launch a new charity campaign – Craft4Bliss, which brings together crafters, makers and the creative industry to celebrate their love of craft and raise money for Bliss during World Craft Week.

World Craft Week will be hosted on Facebook, Instagram (#worldcraftweek @worldcraftweek) and Twitter (@WorldCraftWeek), featuring live tutorials, inspirational projects and ideas, special competitions, challenges and exclusive free patterns. The week-long event will showcase creative talent, innovative ideas, unsung heroes, talented makers and inspirational bloggers in a virtual craft space.

In addition, World Craft Week is giving away a free digital magazine consisting of over 40 pages of different craft projects. The magazine will provide baby themed patterns and tutorials, as well as how to host a Craft4Bliss event, make a donation and win a Craft4Bliss Hero Award.

Chief Executive of Bliss Caroline Lee-Davey said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Immediate Media for their event Craft4Bliss. This exciting campaign will help raise vital funds for the one in eight babies across the UK who are born in need of neonatal care. Crafting can bring people of all ages together and we hope everyone taking part has an enjoyable week.”

Anna Davenport, Head of Partnerships, Bristol, Immediate Media, adds: “We’re thrilled to be hosting World Craft Week for a second year. With over 270 babies born every day here in the UK needing specialist care, we’re delighted to be supporting Bliss for 2018. We are a nation of crafters and we’re asking everyone who loves craft to join in and Craft4Bliss during World Craft Week. We’ve got crafters signing up every day at worldcraftweek.com to receive our free digi-mag. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the teams who will be taking part and for the support of our partners MadeForMums, 5 Minute Fun, Girl Talk Art, Hunkydory Crafts, West Yorkshire Spinners and our colleagues at Sewing Quarter and JewelleryMaker.”
